Why adolescence is a critical stage in ones life?

It's when all the morals are being set, good habits are being started, and good and bad behaviors are being punished or rewarded. It's a part of life where you learn about the people around you, that the world doesn't revolve around you and that other people are important with opinions, wants, and needs as well.
