Facebook, boys, texting and adolescence all in one question?

Okay, so this guy I have liked FOREVER at my school has been a total stranger pretty much to me since we have never had a class together or talked in person EVER. I finally got the guts to approach him on facebook, and we chatted and actually had a good time! I gave him my number and he graciously took it and said he would text me sometime. He hasnt yet. This was a couple hours ago. What should I do or think! This anxiety is truly killing me. Should I have asked for his instead so I have the control or did I do the right thing by giving him mine? HELP! Thanks.
